LC to LC OM5 Duplex Fiber Optic Patch Cord
Complete a local optical connection with a green, 1 m OM5 duplex lead. LC connectors at both ends bring a pair of multimode fibers to the equipment or distribution panel, providing a compact patching arrangement for rack and telecommunications-room connections. The cable is intended for projects that specify OM5 fiber and compatible LC duplex ports.

A Two-Fiber Lead for LC Equipment PatchingLC–LC duplex · OM5 multimode · green jacket · 1 m listed configuration Use the two optical paths as required by the connected interface. The paired connector format keeps the terminations together at each end, while the green cable provides a visible identifier within the patching area. Understand the Paired LC Terminations
| Visible assembly element | Function in the connection |
|---|---|
| LC connector pair | Presents two optical positions at each endpoint for a duplex interface. |
| Duplex retaining clip | Keeps the two connector bodies together during normal patching. |
| Individual exit boots | Support the transitions between the connector bodies and the two cable legs. |
| Paired green cable | Carries the two fibers between the local equipment and the selected destination. |
The local photograph shows a conventional two-boot duplex layout. Agree that layout with the sample or drawing before production, including latch access and clearance around neighboring ports. Housing color is a visual identifier; confirm fiber category and end-face finish through the part record.
Make the Duplex Fiber Map Explicit
A duplex optical interface normally needs one path from the first device's transmitter to the second device's receiver and another path in the reverse direction. Trace both positions through any intervening panel or adapter, then document the required end-to-end mapping.
| Circuit function | Connection to verify |
|---|---|
| Forward optical path | Transmitter at equipment A → receiver at equipment B |
| Return optical path | Receiver at equipment A ← transmitter at equipment B |
This table describes the intended duplex signal paths. The connector-position order is established by the approved cable map and the complete channel, including any intermediate patching.
Where to Use This OM5 Duplex Lead
| Patching task | Design check |
|---|---|
| Switch or optical equipment to a patch panel | Check for LC duplex multimode ports and sufficient reach for the selected route. |
| Rack-level cross-connect | Allocate the pair to the correct circuit and leave access to the release latches. |
| Telecommunications room or enterprise link | Match the fiber category throughout the channel and record the endpoint labels. |
| Wideband multimode project | Select equipment that explicitly supports the intended OM5 application and optical wavelengths. |
OM5 identifies a wideband multimode fiber category. The operating data rate and permitted distance come from the chosen optical equipment and the complete channel design. Check the transceiver documentation, total installed loss and the other fiber segments before approving the link.
For a cabinet layout, coordinate the cable with fiber patch-panel hardware. Our data center cabling support can help review the endpoint schedule and the passive path.
Fit the Cable to the Actual Patching Space
Measure between the intended connection points with allowance for the planned management route. Keep the cable clear of sharp panel edges, tight ties and pinch points. Use the finished assembly's approved bending and handling limits when arranging service loops.
Check both end faces before connection. If contamination is present, clean with a suitable fiber-connector method and inspect again. Keep caps on idle ends, operate the LC latch when disconnecting, and support the cable so its weight does not pull against the port.
Define the Acceptance Record for the OM5 Build
The receiving check should reconcile the 1 m length requirement, two-fiber population, LC duplex terminations and labeling with the order. Verify continuity through both paths and compare the results with the agreed connector-position map.
For optical measurements, specify the multimode launch conditions, reference method, wavelengths and pass limits in advance. Request results that identify the tested cable and both fibers. The acceptance values should apply to this OM5 assembly and its intended measurement setup.
Confirm the Construction before Ordering
| Order detail | Information to confirm |
|---|---|
| Termination details | Confirm the LC polish, boot style and duplex clip required by the mating ports. |
| Jacket and diameter | Specify the jacket material / flame rating and finished cable diameter. |
| Fiber mapping | Approve the correspondence between the two LC positions at opposite ends. |
| Optical limits | Agree OM5 insertion-loss and return-loss acceptance values and test conditions. |
| Handling limits | Obtain the finished-cable bend radius, loading and temperature ratings for the approved construction. |
| Supply definition | Confirm length measurement points, labels, quantity, packing and requested test records. |
Send your endpoint description and required quantity through the Glory enquiry form. Include any required material declaration or inspection documentation so the quotation can state its scope. For other lengths or packaging needs, contact our product team with the project requirements.

Optical Products from NingboNingbo, China · Established 2008 · OEM/ODM enquiries Glory Optical works with buyers sourcing passive optical connection products for communications networks. Our Ningbo operation supplies patch leads and termination components as well as adapters, pigtails, splitters and fiber-management enclosures. Projects can combine standard product selection with discussions about custom assemblies and identification requirements. Agree the Cable Definition and SampleFor an LC duplex lead, establish the fiber grade, two connector ends, cable construction and test scope in a single part definition. Review any sample against that definition before a larger order is released. Our team can discuss termination, component assembly and the related manufacturing work needed for a custom requirement. |
