Multimode LC Options in an Aqua Red-Lever Body
Exterior shown: aqua LC bodies, red center pieces, A/B marks and capped contact ends. |
OM3 / OM4 LC to LC Uniboot Duplex Patch Cord (Red Lever)Select this illustrated LC uniboot format for a duplex patching requirement, with OM3 and OM4 offered as separate fiber options for quotation. The paired LC contacts share one rear cable entry at each end. A red piece is visible within the top of each aqua housing. Its role must be established during the sample review, together with the cable grade and the two LC paths required by the project. |
Choose the Fiber Class before Approving the Cord
OM3 and OM4 both use 50/125 µm multimode fiber. Their effective modal bandwidth requirements differ. Use the class named in the link design and keep that selection in the cable schedule, purchase description and delivered identification.
| Fiber-class reference | OM3 option | OM4 option |
|---|---|---|
| Core / cladding diameter | 50/125 µm | 50/125 µm |
| Minimum effective modal bandwidth at 850 nm | 2000 MHz·km | 4700 MHz·km |
| Order identification | Record OM3 for the selected cord | Record OM4 for the selected cord |
These bandwidth values describe the fiber classes, rather than a measurement of the pictured jumper. Supported transmission depends on the optics, connector arrangement and entire channel. Aqua coloration alone cannot establish which of the two grades is fitted.
Separate Lever Identification from Fiber-Path Verification
Review the red control and the connector release as distinct parts of the sample inspection. Establish what the control moves, how it is operated and how the assembly returns to its accepted condition. Do not assign a switching or locking function simply from its color.
| Item to establish | Evidence to request |
|---|---|
| Mechanical action | A demonstration of the lever and release controls on the proposed hardware |
| Optical path after operation | Continuity records showing the two LC positions at both cable ends |
| Finished identification | Labels that retain the chosen fiber grade and accepted connection arrangement |
If field polarity adjustment is required, include that function explicitly in the sample acceptance. Keep the resulting connection map with the installation record. The molded A/B lettering identifies positions but does not verify the complete optical route.
Quotation Data for the Two Multimode Options
Reference configuration for quotation: OM3 / OM4 are the two selected product options. The diameter, material, contact finish and optical targets below require approval for the supplied version. The photograph has not confirmed a particular grade or its performance.
| Configuration item | Selection or reference criterion |
|---|---|
| Product family | OM3 / OM4 LC to LC Uniboot Duplex Patch Cord (Red Lever) |
| Fiber-grade selection | Choose OM3 or OM4 for each ordered cord; verify the supplied grade |
| Fiber geometry and quantity | 50/125 µm multimode; 2 fibers in the reference construction |
| Connector format | LC duplex uniboot to LC duplex uniboot |
| Appearance of the illustrated version | Aqua bodies and cord, red center levers, white rear boots |
| Reference cord diameter | 2.0 mm nominal round cable |
| Reference jacket material | LSZH; confirm the required construction and rating |
| Reference contact finish | Multimode LC/PC; establish the final termination specification |
| Reference insertion-loss criterion | ≤0.30 dB under the agreed connector evaluation |
| Reference return-loss criterion | ≥35 dB for the selected multimode termination |
| Length and fiber orientation | Specify finished length and the complete two-fiber connection map |
| Red-lever acceptance item | Verify its function and approved operation on the physical sample |
Specify the measurement method and acceptance scope with the loss criteria. Where fiber-class evidence is required, request the corresponding cable identification or documentation in addition to connector loss results.
Accept the Grade, Mechanism and Optical Results Together
Check the sample against three records: its OM3 or OM4 identification, the demonstrated connector operation and the results for both optical paths. This keeps a visually similar housing from standing in for a confirmed cable construction.
Before installation, prepare and inspect both LC contact surfaces. Operate only the verified release mechanism when disconnecting, and support the common cord during handling. Use the agreed cable limits when planning the exit into the cable manager.
Review the LC connection component range and fiber patching panels with the intended equipment interfaces.
State OM3 or OM4 on Each Requested Cable Line
Send the required grade, termination description, cord length and quantity. Add the jacket requirement, two-fiber path map and any mandatory lever function. Attach the receiving-port details where the hardware must fit an existing panel.
