Paired LC Patching in a Magenta Uniboot Format
This version pairs magenta connector bodies with white pull tabs on a common magenta cord. |
LC to LC Uniboot Duplex Patch Cord with Pull Tabs (Magenta)Keep the two LC positions together at the panel and carry the duplex paths through a single common cord. The pictured assembly has matched magenta housings at both ends, with white boots and tabs that remain easy to distinguish from the colored connector bodies. The uniboot format provides one cable entry behind each LC pair. It is a practical format for equipment-room and cabinet patching where paired interfaces are handled together and routed through a common cable manager. |
Include the Patch Cord in the Complete Optical Channel
Select the multimode grade with the transceivers and the installed cabling. For the proposed OM4 version, keep that grade in the cable schedule and include this patching segment when assessing the complete path. The cord's color can support site identification; the accepted specification establishes its optical build.
| Channel portion | Information needed for assessment |
|---|---|
| Cord fiber segment | Verified fiber grade, finished length and the applicable attenuation data |
| Mated end connections | Selected connector grade and the loss allowance for each evaluated interface |
| Other passive hardware | Any panels, adapters, cassettes or additional cords between the optical ports |
A connector selection target alone does not define the installed channel loss or transmission reach. Keep the path components in one record so a future patching change can be assessed against the same optical design.
Review the panel configuration and equipment-room layout alongside the cord selection.
Give the Magenta Variant a Place in the Cord Schedule
A site may assign a cable color to a wiring zone, service or equipment group. For this version, state whether the jacket and both connector shells should carry the same magenta identification. The white operating parts remain visually distinct from those colored surfaces.
Pair the visual scheme with a readable cord identifier and a schedule entry for the endpoint locations, fiber grade and duplex mapping. When ordering replacements, use that entry to identify the required optical construction as well as the color. This also lets differently colored cords share one documented naming scheme across the installation.
Reference Data for a Multimode Magenta Cord
Quotation basis: OM4 and the numerical values below describe a comparable multimode pull-tab uniboot family. The photograph confirms the pictured style, while fiber grade, polish, cable dimensions, jacket class and mechanism require confirmation for the delivered version.
| Cord characteristic | Reference or order requirement |
|---|---|
| Product name | LC to LC Uniboot Duplex Patch Cord with Pull Tabs (Magenta) |
| Pictured color combination | Magenta jacket and LC housings; white boots and pull tabs |
| End format | LC duplex uniboot ↔ LC duplex uniboot |
| Reference multimode build | OM4, 50/125 µm; verify the fiber grade for the actual order |
| Reference fiber paths | 2 fibers carried together in one round cord |
| Reference mating surface | Multimode PC interface; agree the supplied end-face specification |
| Nominal cord-size reference | 2.0 mm |
| Connector loss target | Insertion loss ≤0.30 dB, under the agreed acceptance method |
| Multimode return-loss target | ≥35 dB |
| Jacket options to review | LSZH, PVC / OFNR or OFNP, subject to the selected material and rating |
| Length and identification | Specify finished length, measurement datums and cord labels |
| Duplex path arrangement | Agree the fiber-to-position mapping at both ends |
| Sample functions to establish | Tab operation and any requested polarity-change or tab-removal mechanism |
Set the inspection method and accepted connector limits in the purchase specification. Retain the measured results against the cable identifier, including the tested fiber direction and reference setup.
Choose Service Length around the Manager and Port Row
Measure the route the cord will follow through the cable manager, including the approach to each port. Allow enough slack for the intended access and movement, then place the remaining service loop where it can be supported. A loop should leave the connector and its release area accessible.
Keep the permitted cable bend radius and the selected jacket classification with the route record. Use a cord identifier that stays readable after installation; magenta can be one part of the site's visual scheme alongside that identifier.
Turn the Port List into a Cord Requirement
Send Glory the two port locations, multimode grade, required length and jacket classification. Add the pictured magenta housing and white-tab style, the required duplex mapping and quantity. Identify any adjustable mechanism that needs to be demonstrated on a sample.
