Installation Guidance for Panels and Equipment Ports

Confirm the panel cutout and fixing direction

Keep the LC key orientation consistent
Install the adapter in the same orientation across the patch panel. A consistent latch direction reduces wrong-port patching and makes LC connector insertion easier during cabinet maintenance.
Clean before final patching
Keep dust caps on unused ports. Before connecting OM4 patch cords, inspect and clean connector end faces to avoid contamination-related loss or intermittent optical margin.
Route the patch cord without side pressure
Leave enough clearance in front of the adapter so the LC boot is not pressed by cabinet doors, cable managers or neighboring jumpers. The adapter should not become a load-bearing point for the patch cord.
Label OM4 ports by link function
Use port labels such as uplink, access switch, equipment port, test port or spare. Good labeling is especially useful when OM4 multimode and single-mode links share the same rack.
