Precision-Built for High-Speed Multimode Networks
The GloryOptic OM4 Indoor Fiber Patch Cable is engineered on a 50/125μm graded-index multimode core, laser-optimized for 850nm VCSEL (Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Laser) sources. With an effective modal bandwidth of 4,700 MHz·km at 850nm - more than double OM3's 2,000 MHz·km - it supports 10G, 40G, and 100G Ethernet within a single cable family.
Each connector is terminated with a high-precision zirconia ceramic ferrule (1.25mm for LC/SC, 2.5mm for ST/FC), polished to UPC standard. The end-face geometry is verified per IEC 61300-3-35 before packaging. The distinctive aqua jacket follows TIA-492AAAD and ISO/IEC 11801 color coding for instant identification in high-density patch panels.
Jacket options include OFNR (riser-rated), OFNP (plenum-rated, self-extinguishing), and LSZH (low-smoke zero-halogen for enclosed spaces). All variants use aramid yarn strength members providing 90N cable retention.

Why Choose OM4 Fiber Patch Cable?

VCSEL Laser Optimized
The 50μm graded-index core is manufactured with precise refractive index profiling, reducing modal dispersion and enabling clean VCSEL-coupled transmission at 850nm - the standard source for 10G/40G/100G short-reach transceivers.
Zirconia Ceramic Ferrule
Zirconia (ZrO₂) ferrules offer tighter dimensional tolerance than plastic alternatives - typically ±0.5μm on ferrule diameter - delivering consistent low-loss connections across 500+ mating cycles without degradation.

Multi-Jacket Ratings
OFNP plenum jackets are self-extinguishing and emit minimal toxic gases in fire conditions - mandatory in air-handling plenum spaces. LSZH jackets protect enclosed areas such as underground ducts and tunnel installations

What Sets Our OM4 Fiber Patch Cable Apart from Generic Suppliers
Most distributors buy from multiple manufacturers and repackage. GloryOptic manufactures in-house at our Ningbo facility - giving us end-to-end control over fiber selection, ferrule polishing, and final testing. Here is what that means in practice.
Factory-Tested IL Report with Every Cable
Every cable ships with a printed insertion loss and return loss test result tied to its serial number. You get actual measured values - not a blanket spec sheet claim. If a link degrades over time, compare current readings to the baseline and diagnose in minutes rather than hours.
IEC 61300-3-35 End-Face Inspection
Each connector is inspected under a 400× video microscope before packaging. We reject connectors with scratches, contamination, or chips in the core zone - the leading cause of the 15–50% of fiber network problems attributed to dirty connectors.
High-Retention Dust Caps (500+ Insertions)
Every connector is fitted with a rated dust cap before individual packaging. Unlike single-use caps that fall off during transit, our caps maintain a secure fit and can be reused throughout installation and testing without compromising the end face.
Custom Length in 0.1m Increments - No MOQ Rounding
Need 1.7m? You receive 1.7m - not a 2m cable with slack coiled behind a patch panel. Precise lengths improve airflow, reduce cable management time, and eliminate clutter in high-density environments.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is OM4 backwards compatible with OM3 equipment?
A: Yes. OM4 uses the same 50/125μm core geometry and aqua jacket color as OM3. It is fully compatible with OM3 transceivers, patch panels, and MTP/MPO trunk cables. Performance will be limited by the lower-spec component - if you mix OM3 and OM4 in a link, you achieve OM3 distances. For any new cabling, OM4 is the recommended choice as it provides headroom for future speed upgrades.
Q: What connector types are available?
A: GloryOptic supplies OM4 patch cables with LC, SC, ST, FC, E2000, and MTP/MPO connectors. Any combination is available - LC-to-SC, SC-to-ST, and so on. Polarity for MTP/MPO cables can be specified as Type A, B, or C. Contact us with your specific connector pairing and we will quote accordingly.
Q: What does the factory test report include?
A: Each test report includes: cable serial number, connector types, cable length, insertion loss measured at 850nm for each fiber, return loss, end-face inspection grade (IEC 61300-3-35), cable retention test result, and test date. Reports are available in PDF format on request for digital records.
Q: What is the minimum order quantity for custom lengths?
A: There is no fixed minimum for standard configurations - we accept orders from a single cable upward. For custom OEM orders with private labeling, custom jacket colors, or non-standard configurations, a low MOQ applies. Contact our sales team for details specific to your project volume.
Q: Should I choose OFNR, OFNP, or LSZH jacket?
A: OFNR (riser) is suitable for vertical runs between floors in non-plenum spaces. OFNP (plenum) is required in air-handling plenum spaces above drop ceilings or below raised floors where building codes mandate low-smoke, self-extinguishing materials. LSZH is preferred in enclosed or poorly ventilated spaces - tunnels, ships, public transport - where toxic smoke evacuation is difficult. When in doubt, plenum (OFNP) is the safest choice for any indoor installation.
Q: Can OM4 support future 400G upgrades?
A: OM4 fiber is specified in the IEEE 802.3cm standard for 400GBASE-SR8, which uses 8-fiber parallel optics over OM4 to reach 100m. MTP/MPO OM4 trunk cabling installed today will support 400G SR8 transceivers when you upgrade switching hardware - without recabling. For 400G links requiring >100m, single-mode fiber is required.
