Product Overview
This LC-to-LC OS2 duplex patch cord is designed for clean, repeatable optical connection in indoor fiber infrastructure. Instead of positioning it as a simple spare jumper, the product page focuses on where it is installed, how it is routed inside cabinets, and how technicians can keep the link stable during daily moves, additions and changes.
High-Density LC Connectivity
LC duplex connectors are suitable for compact switch ports, SFP/SFP+/SFP28/QSFP breakout areas, patch panels and optical distribution frames where port density matters.
OS2 Long-Reach Link Support
OS2 9/125μm single-mode fiber supports long-distance transmission paths at 1310nm and 1550nm, making it suitable for equipment-room, campus and telecom interconnects.
Cabinet-Friendly 2.0mm Cable
The 2.0mm duplex cable offers a balance of handling strength and flexibility, helping installers route jumpers through horizontal and vertical cable managers without bulky slack.

Installation Guidance for Stable LC Duplex Links
Most field issues with patch cords are not caused by the cable specification alone. Wrong length selection, tight cabinet routing, unclean end faces and poor port labeling can all create avoidable loss or troubleshooting time. The following installation points can be added directly to a product page to make the content more useful for buyers and technicians.
Choose length by routing path, not by straight-line distance
Measure the real path through horizontal cable managers, vertical rings and cabinet side channels. Add controlled service slack, but avoid large coils that block airflow or hide port labels.
Match LC UPC to blue single-mode ports
Before patching, confirm that both ends are LC UPC and the link is single-mode OS2. Do not mix UPC and APC ports on the same optical path.
Keep A-to-B duplex polarity consistent
Use the same polarity rule across patch panels and equipment ports. For duplex Ethernet links, one fiber carries transmit and the other carries receive, so uncontrolled flips can delay link turn-up.
Inspect and clean before insertion
Dust caps should stay on until installation. Inspect the ferrule end face, clean if needed, and avoid touching the ceramic ferrule surface during handling.
Avoid connector boot stress
Route the cable so the LC boot is not pressed by cabinet doors, neighboring patch cords or sharp panel edges. Side pressure at the boot can create microbending near the connector.
Record link loss after installation
For project delivery, record port number, cable length, polarity, insertion loss and end-face inspection result. This makes later maintenance faster and reduces repeated fault isolation work.
Application Layer: Where to Use This Patch Cable
| Application Layer | Typical Connection | Why LC UPC Duplex OS2 Fits |
|---|---|---|
| Data Center Cross-Connect | Fiber patch panel to switch, router or optical module | LC duplex supports compact ports, while OS2 enables long-reach single-mode optics such as LR, ER or transport links. |
| Telecom Equipment Room | ODF to transmission equipment, access device or media converter | The yellow jacket simplifies single-mode identification and helps technicians separate OS2 links from multimode patching zones. |
| Enterprise Backbone | Main distribution frame to intermediate distribution frame | Good fit for campus or building backbone interconnects where single-mode fiber is preferred for future upgrade headroom. |
| FTTx / ISP Cabinet | Indoor rack, small ODF, splitter cabinet or optical terminal equipment | 2.0mm duplex construction is easier to route than thicker jumpers in tight cabinet spaces. |
| Testing and Temporary Turn-Up | Optical test equipment, transceiver validation or spare patching | Standard LC UPC interfaces make it useful as a daily-use jumper for optical troubleshooting and acceptance testing. |
Selection Notes for Buyers
When to Choose PVC / OFNR
PVC / OFNR jacket is commonly selected for indoor riser-rated cabinet and equipment-room environments. It is suitable when the project does not require low-smoke zero-halogen cable by local code or customer specification.
- Rack-to-rack or panel-to-device links in controlled indoor areas.
- Short service loops inside ODFs, patch panels and server cabinets.
- Cost-sensitive bulk patching where LSZH is not mandatory.
When to Request LSZH or OFNP
For enclosed public buildings, transport stations, healthcare facilities, plenum spaces or projects with stricter fire-safety documentation, specify LSZH or OFNP during RFQ.
- Public building cabling with low-smoke requirements.
- Air-handling spaces requiring plenum-rated cable.
- Project tenders that require jacket marking and compliance documents.
