Suspended cable support method: This method is simple and inexpensive, and is the most widely used in my country, but adding and organizing cables on the hooks is time-consuming.
Suspended cable winding method: This method is more stable and requires less maintenance. However, it requires a special winding machine.
Self-supporting aerial method: This method requires high-quality poles, and construction and maintenance are difficult and costly. It is rarely used in China at present.
When installing aerial cables, a guiding device must be added at the point where the optical cable is led to the pole, and the optical cable should be prevented from dragging on the ground. Attention should be paid to reducing friction during cable pulling. A section of cable should be left on each pole to allow for expansion and contraction.
The reliable grounding of metal objects in the optical cable must be ensured. Especially in mountainous areas, high-voltage power grid areas, and areas with frequent lightning strikes, there should generally be 3 grounding points per kilometer, or even non-metallic optical cables should be used.
